Kent Foote
At the age of five Kent’s mother had him start piano lessons. At the age of eight she enrolled him at the Larry Pino Conservatory of Music. It was the policy of the conservatory to give a music aptitude test after eight weeks of study. To remain in the conservatory a score of 80% was required. He scored 98%. The music career was on its way. He went on to study at the conservatory for eight years.
At the age of 12 he joined a rock and roll band and fell in love with the music. He played his first gig at thirteen years old. His love of this music grew. He played with a couple of groups until one day wanted to form his own unique band and was one of the founders of Body Mind & Soul. These were top musicians of their time who later became one of the top bands in the west. They played venues having over 5,000 seats Such as The Valley Music Hall, The Terrace Ballroom and Event Center. They opened for several big name bands like Beach Boys, The Byrds, Everly Brothers and more. The band recorded for Gayle Productions who represented Warner Brothers Studios. After some unfortunate and unforeseen events he left the business.
Fast forward to 1999! Kent was enjoying dinner one night at Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant one evening with his wife and business partner. He walked up to the piano bar where Mr. Paul Stevenson was performing. He put a tip in the jar and asked Paul to play “Come Fly with Me” (Kent is a big Sinatra fan) Paul jokingly said, “if you’ll sing it I’ll play it”. Kent said what the heck, give me the microphone. It had been years since he had performed. After singing Paul said do you know any more? Kent Replied yes! They have been together ever since that day in 1999. As things progressed over the nexts few years, horns, bass, drums and guitar were added. Kent has appeared on the same shows as Zowie Bowie, Clint Holmes, The Scinta’s, Pia Zadora, David Perico, Paul Shortino and many other top entertainers. Kent is back doing what he loves!
Kent has performed in shows and on stage with Chris Philips (Zowie Bowie), Clint Holmes, Robert Nash, Pia Zaorda, David Perico, Paul Shortino, Gary Anthony, Jonathan Scott (ABC Morning Blend) & a host of others. |

Steve Poncar
Born in the Chicago suburb of Naperville, IL Steve began studying saxophone privately at the age of 6. Both his father and grandfather were musicians so Steve, along with his 5 brothers was encouraged to take up an instrument at an early age. His grandfather played his saxophone and Steve was given his namesake, so it seemed the natural thing to do to pass the saxophone torch to Steve.
All through school, Steve excelled in band, entering talent shows and was featured as a soloist in school competitions and concerts and soon began expanding his musical horizons in Jazz. Directly after high school, he studied at the Jamie Aebersoll Jazz Camp for the summer before attending Western IL University for three months. It was there that Steve decided not to pursue the academic side of music, but rather move in the direction of performing.
He then hooked up with local musicians and bands creating a name for himself playing Jazz, Funk and R& B. That led Steve to an offer to play with Rick Saucedo, the premiere Elvis impersonator in Chicago, and two weeks later the show flew to Las Vegas performing at the Stardust as a headline act in the summer of 1978. Within 6 months, moved to LA where he enrolled in Dick Grove School of Music in Studio Performance.
He went on to continue his advanced education in Writing/Arranging & Film Scoring. During his schooling Steve began playing with various LA bands adding flute and vocals to his repertoire. His new associations led him to perform at some of the most popular clubs in LA and he was offered an opportunity to record a track on an early Stray Cats album in 1980. He also recorded an album of Beatles sound a-likes for Hal Leonard Publishing as well as a demo for Al Jarreau and an album for Arthur More.
In 1984, Steve opened up City Heat Productions, an entertainment company while growing his business, he performed on the TV shows and in movies including Picket Fences, Earth Angel, Baywatch, Beverly Hills 90210, Naked Gun 33 1/3 and the Frank Sinatra mini-series to name a few. He can also be heard on the King of the Hill animated series singing Twist and Shout and in the movie “This Boy’s Life” performing as Robert DeNiro in the saxophone scene.
In 2004, Steve moved to Las Vegas and soon began performing locally before being offered the saxophone chair in Terry Fator’s New Show in 2007. Steve continues to maintain his strong musical abilities currently performing in various groups around Las Vegas with The Vegas Good Fellas Band, the Vegas Underground & the Tap House Band, the Foundation Room, Siena Trattoria, Ferraro’s Fine Italian, and tours with two Billy Joel/Elton John production Shows as well as Tina Marie’s Comedy Hypnosis Shows. |
